Yaw Agyekum is an author, entrepreneur, healthcare professional, husband, and father whose greatest lessons have come not from a classroom or boardroom—but from more than three decades of marriage.

Born and raised in Ghana and now based in Columbus, Ohio, Yaw has spent much of his adult life building a family, businesses, and a career in healthcare. He is a Registered Nurse, and Respiratory Care Practitioner, and serves as CEO of New Millenium Home Health. He is also co-founder of Akidel Investment Company and has appeared with his family on the Hulu reality series Royal Rules of Ohio.

But behind the professional accomplishments is the story Yaw considers most important: his journey as a husband to Delali Agyekum and father to their three daughters.

Their marriage has included love, laughter, cultural differences, mistakes, difficult conversations, forgiveness, growth, and the lessons that can only come from building a life together over many years. Those experiences became the foundation for Becoming a Consultant in Your Marriage.

Yaw does not write from a place of perfection. He writes from experience—particularly the moments when he had to examine his own behavior, listen differently, accept responsibility, and become more intentional about how he treated the woman he loved.

His hope is simple: that sharing those lessons will encourage husbands to look honestly at themselves, treat their wives with greater respect and consideration, and understand that a stronger marriage often begins with the willingness to change oneself.
